BANNED CARTOONS #4

It's the final week of our politically incorrect, out of touch cartoons, banned from the screen! We left the best (worst) for last! This week we have one the most racist cartoons I have ever seen, plus something a little more recent - just to change it up.

Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs - Merrie Melodies 1943 - Banned 1968

Right of the bat, you notice that all the black characters have that stereotypical, ridiculous accent. Furthermore, apparently being "rich" and having "everything" to a black women is a large collection of tires, sugar, coffee and gin. Astounding.

Of course the classic "blackface" characters and facial features are again present.

Prince Chawmin' as he's introduced, comes complete with gold grills on his teeth as well as dice, a well known symbol for gambling.

Snow White is portrayed as the dark, exotic sex symbol. The forbidden fruit of white male desires. That skirt is barely there. I've yet to see a white Snow White from that time period dressed like that.

It becomes even more ridiculous when the evil queen arranges for Snow White's murder. She hires Murder Inc, who can also rub out midgets for 1/2 price, and Japs for free.

Snow White survives her kidnapping / murder attempt by making out (at the very least) with her would be killers or possible sleeping with them.

This cartoons just blows me away.

One Beer - Tiny Toons Episode "Elephant Issues" - September 1991

This cartoon features Buster Bunny, Plucky Duck and Hamilton Pig sharing their first beer, getting absolutely smashed drunk, stealing a police car, driving drunk and eventually driving off a cliff to their deaths.

Written to be a PSA for kids about the dangers of liquor, this cartoon was only aired once in the USA. It wouldn't be seen again until years later on Nic at Nite.
